Package Itinerary

The places to watch birds are Tikal, Uaxactun, Yaxha, Cerro Biotope Cahuí peteneras sheets and beach town that is close to Flores.

You can do this tour on any of those sites (one at time).

Tikal: has a humid subtropical forest with at least 180 species of birds, among which the Peten turkey, Crested Eagle and Orange-breasted Falcon is a very rare species of note, there are also a variety of Hummingbirds, oropendulas Magpies, herons and other attractive species as Agami heron, woodpeckers, parrots, etc.

Uaxactun: is a protected area north of Tikal, which has the same type of vegetation and yet is a ARCHEOSITE® as Tikal and Yaxha. Turkeys here, Cojolitas, Orioles, Cuckoos, swallows, quail, etc. are observed

Yaxha: Subtropical forest also is bathed by two lakes Yaxha and Sac nab that makes a difference with Tikal, here you can observe aquatic birds, such as kingfishers, cormorants, Jacana, Magpie Yucatecan, motmots and the Yucatan flycatchers etc.


Cerro Biotope Cahuí: Located 30km from Tikal to Flores route, on the northeast side of Lake Peten Itza and possessing a riparian gallery forest or forest. This protected area also has water and land birds.

Playa del Pueblo: this is not a protected area, located about 400mt from the island of Flores in a straight line. It is characterized by harboring endemic waterfowl as the egret Bittern, Green Magpies, Swifts, etc. also you can be seen here both as transient birds migratory birds. as the American Plover. all previous sites have a particularity in birds, but also provide us with a very long list of species found. Here we have counted 70 species sighted in one day.
