Overview
Soak up the scenery of central Guatemala over three memorable days with this action-packed tour from Guatemala City. Enjoy two nights' accommodation in the alpine town of Cobán, with ample opportunities to discover the surrounding countryside. Follow your guide on a 3-hour hike through the El Biotopto del Quetzal forest; cool off in the rock pools of Semuc Champey; and explore the Lanquin and Rey Marcos caves.
Itinerary:
Day #1 Guatemala City – Rey Marcos Caves, Cobán:
Departure from Guatemala City or Antigua to Coban. After a 4-hour drive, visit Rey Marco´s Caves, where you can have a great adventure and at the same time, you will have a connection with nature. The caves are karst and during the tour, you can see awesome formations that water has sculpted with minerals in the limestone of the region of Alta Verapaz. When finished the exploration you can take a bath in the river outside the caves. When finished, transfer to your hotel in Cobán.

Day #2 Lanquín Caves and Semuc Champey (B):
After breakfast, the adventure will begin by taking a two-hour journey to get to Lanquín where you will explore Lanquín caves, after about 1-hour visit, you will continue to Semuc Champey, a monument made by nature, explore the natural beauty, and swim in the pools carved out of limestone. Relax and enjoy. In the afternoon transfer back to your hotel in Cobán.

Day #3 Biotopo del Quetzal – Guatemala City (B):
In the morning visit Biotopo del Quetzal where we may have the chance to see the Quetzal, our national bird. We’ll begin making a hike in the forest of “El Biotopo del Quetzal”. After enjoying 1.5 hours of hiking and nature, we will return to Guatemala City or Antigua.
